Toastmasters International

Welcome to the home of China Toastmasters - District 85 (provisional), the newest district in Toastmasters International. While we are constantly expanding the network of clubs in China, we never forget our humble origins with three clubs that formed in separate regions of this vast country in 1999. Since then the number of clubs and members has continued to grow. We hope you will take time to learn more about Toastmasters and specifically Toastmasters in China by following the links to other areas of our website.

Currently there are 64 clubs in China located in three Divisions. The Divisions include:

East - currently with clubs in the cities of Changshu, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou and Wuxi.

North - currently with clubs in the cities of Beijing, Chengdu, Dalian, Huairou, Shenyang, Tianjin and Zhengzhou.

South - currently with clubs in the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Zhuhai.

The following graph shows the growth of Toastmasters in China and shows the growth anticipated by the end of the current Toastmaster year.

Our Mission

The Mission of this District is to enhance the quality and performance and extend the network of the member Clubs of Toastmasters International within the boundaries of this District, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program, by:

Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the District educational and membership goals.
Insuring that each Club effectively fulfills its responsibilities to its individual members.
Providing effective training and leadership development opportunities for Club and District Officers.

District 85(P) is one of the districts of Toastmasters International and includes the clubs within the People's Republic of China except Hong Kong and Macau (currently 64 clubs and over 1700 members). Toastmasters International is a world-wide non-profit organization that helps its members improve their public speaking and communication skills. The World Headquarters of Toastmasters International is located in Rancho Santa Margarita California in the United States.
