District 85 2009 Fall Speech Contests Schedule

To: Division Governors, Area Governors, Club Presidents & VPEs 

Date: July 9th, 2009

Dear All,

We just had the kickoff meeting for our district 85 2009 fall conference at the end of June. Our district fall conference will be held on Nov.28, 2009 in Shenzhen. The theme is: Go Beyond. We have invited Lance Miller, 2005 world champion of public speaking to be our VIP speaker in this conference.

Please pay attention to the below contest schedule so that you can plan your club level, area level and division level contests accordingly.

We will hold two types of contests and one showcase this time:

  • English Evaluation Contest
  • English Humorous Speech Contest
  • Mandarin Table Topics Showcase

*Note: According to Toastmasters International Contest Rulebook, “in those areas with four assigned clubs or less eight weeks prior to the area contest, districts have the option to allow the two highest placed available contestants from each club to compete in the area contest. Should additional clubs charter prior to the area contest, the two highest placed available contestants from each club may compete.
