FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2008-2009 District Officer Nomination Committee

Today's Date -- December 15, 2007

Dear Members of District 85P,

While we are only about half of the way through this year, it is already time to begin the search for the leaders that will guide our district in the 2008-2009 Toastmaster Year. I am very pleased to announce that Immediate Past Territorial Council Warwick John Fahy, DTM will chair the 2008-2009 District Officer Nomination Committee as it identifies candidates to serve in the coming year. The offices that the committee will select candidates for are District Governor, Lt. Governor of Education and Training, Lt. Governor of Marketing and Division Governor (currently there will be three; however this might expand to four depending upon decisions of the Alignment Committee).

The following is a tentative timeline for the Nominating Committee Process:

Announcement of Committee Recommendations for Nominations

April 15 2008

In order to ensure a balance of representation of the current Divisions in District 85 within the Nominating Committee, there will be at least two representatives from each of the Divisions on the committee. I am asking now for any officer or member that does not plan on running for one of the elected positions to contact me so they can be considered to take part in the work of the committee. No member may have served on the nominating committee the previous year. It is preferable that all members of the committee have been either an elected or appointed District officer or the President or Vice President of Education of a club; however, this is not a requirement. All persons interested in serving on the committee should send me an email by January 9th stating why they wish to serve on the committee and their availability to take part in the process.

Sincerely,

Keith Ostergard, DTM
2007-2008 District Governor
